Comments
disappearing
The quick fix to this problem is to change the
number of visible comments. To do this, after you've logged
in and you are on your home page, click Settings. In that
screen you'll see the number of visible comments drop-down
setting. Change the number and then click Submit. Your
comments will reappear. You can then go back in and reset
it to the number of displayed comments if you like. |

Changes
to pages aren't immediately seen
Sometimes your browser may cache your page. Force
a refresh of your page by clicking the Refresh button
or pressing F5. |

Admin
page is stretched and some boxes are not visible
This is caused by an error in code that you have
placed in a custom box. Many MySpace code generation utilities
utilize CSS which may harm the page layout that the SNAPP!
engine is serving your page with. If this happens, you'll
need to contact an Admin so that they can attempt to remove
the bad box. Be warned, that sometimes it is necessary
to remove ALL custom boxes to repair your profile. |

Admin
page is blank (white)
An update may have rendered your Admin page inaccessible
and white. If so click this link, http://www.slfirst.com/addNetworkcaption.php,
and simply click the Submit button to input a caption. |

Newly
uploaded profile pic is different from the image seen
on friends lists, etc.
This is a very temporary condition but often causes confusion.
The database will soon catch up with your new images upload
as the data is replicated across site functions, usually
a period of 20 minutes or so. If you do not wish to wait
you can press F5 to force a refresh. |

When
signing up for a banner program, please have your banner
sized no greater than 256 pixels wide by 512 pixels high
and your SLURL ready. If you do not have a banner and
require one made, please contact Jazmina Firefly and one
can be made for you for a small fee. |
| |
All
ads run in a rotation script and appear completely at
random. There is no set number of times that your banner
will appear over that of another banner. Your banner will
be programmed into the script and your SLURL tested for
functionality within 24 hours of receiving approved materials.
Payments are payable to Jazmina
Firefly in game. |

Landing
Page (page just after logging in)
This banner is seen by all members and is not put into
the rotation, guaranteeing that it is the only banner
seen for that location. This banner will be sold in three
month blocks for $4000L per quarter (three months). It
supports SLURL redirection similar to the banner rotation.
The dimensions for this banner are 400 pixels wide by
130 pixels high. |

If
a scheduled payment is missed, a reminder email will be
sent out. If no action is taken at that time to make payment,
then unfortunately we will have to pull the ad from the
script to be fair to all other paying participants. Sorry. |

How
do I upload pictures?
A question commonly received as this function
can be somewhat confusing. From your Admin screen, click
on the Photo link. In the next screen you'll have the
option to create a Photo Album. This is personal preference,
but many people choose to place RL pics in one album and
SL pics in another. Create an album should you so choose,
then click the image in the album you wish to place images
into. The next screen that you see will have several options,
click on Upload New Photos. Follow the prompts on uploading
images and you'll be good to go. Remember, that it's best
to start organizing your pictures into folders earlier
rather than later. |

How
do I block other members?
Sometimes it is necessary for you to block unwanted
visitors. You can do this in two places, in their
profile screens and in their IM window. Simply
go to their profile and click "Block this User".
Should the member IM you and it is an unwanted IM, there
is an option to "Block this User" on the IM
screen. All blocking is undoable from your Setting under
Managed blocked users. |

How
do I put music on my page?
Many members have placed music, video, Flash animations,
graphics, and other items on their pages to make their
pages more interesting. The simplest of which is the placement
of music videos via a service called Music Jesus, www.musicjesus.com.
Another method of adding music to your page is to link
directly to a music file on a web server using the Media
Box. The Add Your Own Media Box has special functionality
over a Add A Box. In the Add Your Own Media Box you pick
whether the file being chosen for use is a sound or video
file, this helps SLFirst know how it will embed the file
and how it will stream the file. A simple example of how
this works is such. A music file called salsa.wma resides
on a web server that you manage in a folder called music
under a domain name called www.johndoe.com. You would
put into the Add Your Own Media Box the path, http://www.johndoe.com/music/salsa.wma.
That's all. SL.First will do the rest. |

How
do I link an image of my business with a SLURL (Second
Life URL)?
Place the image into a Add A Box and got to Insert Code.
You will see html code in the box similar to this,
<img src='http://www.slFirst.com/Secondlife/john/doe-1234567890.jpg'
border='0' />.
What
you want to make it look like is this:
<a
href='http://slurl.com/secondlife/name of region/xxx/xx/xx/'
target='_blank'><img src='http://www.slFirst.com/Secondlife/john/doe-1234567890.jpg'
border='0' /></a>
The
"name of region" is obviously the name of
your region, and the xxx/xx/xx is the coordinates of
your landing point. What this does is places an anchor
tag around your image that when clicked will open a
new browser window with the Second Life map for teleporting
to you in game location. If SL is running, the SL map
window will open up asking for a teleport. |

How
do I find my SLFirst URL?
Often times you many wish to have your SLFirst URL. To
find this is easy and can be done two different ways.
The
first location your profile URL can be found
will be just after you sign in and are on your landing
page. In the upper right corner is a box called Your
Stats, in that box you’ll see Your Page, click
the Forward button. In the following page you will see
your profile URL where you can copy and paste that information
into your SL profile.
The
second location where your profile URL can
be found will be in your Admin screen, under Edit Personal
Info, listed as Pick A Username. Here too you can cut
and past your SLFirstURL into your SL profile.
We
hope that you’ve had your SLFirst URL in your SL
profiles already. But should you not already have it
in there, this is an excellent opportunity that we hope
you will take advantage of to share more of yourselves
with the SL community and place your SLFirst URL into your
SL profiles. |

What's
the difference between a Medio Box and a Box?
The media box includes streaming and embedding code for
audio and video that any other kind of box will not have.
So if you're playing movies or sound on your site, then
this is the type of box to pick. |

What
is the best way to save my images from SL to use on
this site?
Second Life saves your textures in game as .bmp's to
your hard drive, and it is up to you to convert that
large file format to a reasonable file size for use
on this site. If using a Windows machine, you can use
MS Paint to save the file to a .JPG. A texture of 512x512
saved as a JPG will be the proper size to use on
SLFirst
There are of course other software options for performing
this task, we've just named the most basic.
Got
a MAC? This bit of information came to us from one of
our MAC using members. These are that members words,
"The easiest way to get SL pictures into RL is
to use a freeware product called 'Snap 'n Drag'. Which
you can get at: http://www.yellowmug.com/ Once you have
it installed you just select an option of how you want
to copy the image ie selection, window or frame. It
captures the image, you name it, and when you drag the
image off the pallet it is automatically saved as a
.JPEG file... VERY EASY!!! Then you go to edit here
as you would for a PC, select file and upload your image." |

How
do I get to be on the Login Screen image?
This question comes up quite frequently. AV's are
chosen in hopes of representing each walk of life from our
membership. Images are rotated out as they become old or
obsolete and dependant upon the the free time of our
Admin. If you are interested in submitting a login
that you create please send them to
slfirstsupport@gmail.com Please Put Login Photo in
the subject heading. Pictures must be 800 x 413 in size ,
PG in rating and Contain the words SLFirst and Express
Yourself your name is optional. If
you are interested but do not know how to edit your own
photos please contact Jazmina Firefly.
There is no guarantee that an AV will be used
immediately or at all as the needs of creating imagery for
the login screens fluctuates over time. |

Can
I have nude images on my profile?
No. SLFirst is a free site that is open to the general public,
to people of all walks of life and to all ages. We welcome
your creativity in creating your profiles but ask that
you please keep in mind that under US Federal guidelines
which we are subject too, that no real life nudity be
shown, nor the genitalia of your AV. For imagery of that
nature to be shown, we would have to restrict the age
limit of our members to over 18 and have a verifiable
age function in place. This is a hassle to everyone and
we have chosen not to implement one. If a violation is
found, we will contact the member by email requesting
that they take down the offensive material. If the request
is ignored, then an Admin will remove it for you. If the
material is replaced after an Admin has taken the time
to ensure that your profile complies with regulations,
then your profile will be deleted without a notification
to you. |

Harassment
of Members
SLFirst will not tolerate harassment in any form. We follow
up on all harassment complaints and will make our best
efforts to make sure that both parties are spoken to,
the event documented, and the resolution is satisfactory
to all parties. If harassment continues then privileges
to the use of this site will be suspended for one week.
If harassment continues beyond that then account deletion
will take place. |

Malicious
Accounts
It has been brought to our attention on a time or two
that an account has been created for someone without their
knowledge. These accounts are usually created with the
intention of harming the person that they represent. The
accounts in question are usually quite obvious as to their
intent and usually violate site policy in a number of
ways. If such an account is found, it will be deleted
without a confirmation email being sent out for verification
of it's authenticity. |
